Careful with your domain search

Especially if you search on networksolutions.com, because when you do a search for domain availability, the next day you will find it has already been registered and will offer it for sale to you.

Check this out.

The domain says “www. visit mrbadak dot com .com” hehehe.

This was exposed in reddit yesterday where the submitter asked everyone to enter ridiculous search terms as a domain name and an autobot will register it soon. I tried it myself and that was the domain I typed. When I check this morning, sure enough, the domain has been registered by network solutions.

I still can buy it though from them for US$9.90 but only from them. Other sites like netfirms sells domains less than that.

So you know what you have to do right? Head on over to network solutions and type in funny, crazy long domain names and check on it a few hours later.

Let me know what domain names you can come up with. For some ideas, check out the reddit games comments.

When programmers curse

they put them in the comments - haha. So a programmer decided to search for profanities contained in the codes, via Google Lab’s Code Search and found many instances of coders letting out their frustrations in the comments.

Personally, I don’t put any nasty words in the comment section of my codes. Not sure why.

Anyway, from the compiled list, this has got to be my favourite (found here).

/* FIXME: please god, when will the hurting stop? Thus function is so fucking broken it’s not even funny. */

This one however is awfully familiar to me though (found here)

# Note to self: I have no idea what this does anymore
# It looks like a cool f*cking segment of code though!
# I just wish I remembered writing it… :\

For the full compiled list - go here - a must-visit for programmers.

PirateBay version in BM

Well I had a nice surprise this morning when I went over to PirateBay.org site to check out what to download is hot on market. It was all in Bahasa Malaysia - it detected my country of origin and changed the languge.

pirate bay in bahasa malaysia

I never really followed any news on the site so I’m not sure if this feature has just been released but anyway, BM is one of the 32 languages available there. Most probably Malaysians are one of the biggest visitors.

Anyone can change the default language however but for me, I will use BM for now. It is funny sometimes to see the translation and also the non-translated words like “Traker BitTorrent Terbesar Di Dunia” hehe… isn’t that supposed to be “Pengesan BitTorrent”?

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got to post. I shall go back and continue my carian lanun

There are no IT Professionals in Borneo

Don’t you just hate it when there are people who thinks Malaysia is made up of only the peninsular (you know, the one that looks like a strangled cock). Look at the following form :

where's borneo

That’s the form from ZDNet Asia’s section to see your salary benchmark against other IT professionals. They left out Sabah and Sarawak.

It’s the same irritation when I hear a local or foreign artist doing a tour of Malaysia but listed states are only from Perlis to Johor. Sheessh. Next time call it “Tour of Malaya” la…

Donate with other people’s money now

Tinyprints.com is donating 0.10 for every click to 3 children’s charities in the US. They have a limit of $50,000 to give but as of now, they’ve only reached a mere $649.60! No purchasing or other action is necessary - you only have to type in the captcha code and click.

So go to the website and click to raise it by 0.10, next spread the word. Of the 3 charities, I chose the one with the lowest donated amount and gave them my 0.10 hehe.

Go to tinyprints now.
