The next time when you drop by in Tanzania, don’t be surprised if you encounter strange and unbelievable names.

How unbelieveable? Well like Mr Godknows, who was named so because he was born so sick, nobody, even the doctors and traditional healers are sure if he is able to survive, so only “God knows”.

Other known names are Lovemores, Tellmores, Justice, Honour, Trust and Gift.

Before you conclude that are their parents are crazy, you should know that in Southern Africa a child’s name is chosen to convey a specific meaning or events at those times, however instead of the local language being used, they are now turning to the English language instead.

Even the weather conditions that accompanied births can also be used as their names. So you will also find people with names like Windy or Rainy.

Ever heard of the phrase “angel lust”? Well if the first images that comes into your mind are of beautiful, sexy angels or celebrities then please, blank them now as what I’m going to tell you is completely different.

The phrase “angel lust” is actually another term for “death erection”, where the penis of a male comes to erection after the point of death. Yeah baby, I think any egoistic “player” would love to have this effect when his time comes. Imagine if the girls at a guy’s requiem service started talking like

“woah- can you see his erection? it brings back memories. He’s still hot even when he’s dead… “.

That would be any playboy’s dream.

But anyway, to have any chances of this happening to you, you have to die vertically. That means die with your body in a “standing” position and death by the noose (hanging) is the way to go. Strangulation is another method where this medical phenomenon (termed priapism) could happen.

As you would’ve guessed it, this is caused by the blood and pressure placed upon the lower parts of the body.

Huh? Yeah, you read that right! Do you know that males are able to produce breast milk? Well I didn’t and now I know.

Both male and female have the same body anatomy to produce milk. The only difference is that the female version is larger. However, the larger the milk glands does not mean the more milk they can produce. Hormones that increases the production of milk are stimulated by the act of sucking on the nipples.

So that means even non-pregnant ladies can breastfeed babies if enough stimulation is done. In the olden days, this was done by the midwife when the mother who has given birth lost their lives. So this would also mean, with enough stimulation and maybe positive thinking, males can also breastfeed babies.

Case in point - in 2004, a father in Sri Lanka breastfed his 18-month old daughter after his wife lost her life while giving birth to their second child. The toddler was so used to the mother’s milk.

Almost everyone has a thumbdrive now and I think it’s safe to say that “thumb drive killed the floppy disk”. Nowadays you can get a 2GB Kingston thumbdrive for RM65 while for a 1GB it’s only RM40, and these prices are in KK, Sabah!

Anyway, what if you accidentally dropped your thumbdrive in public or somebody stole it from you, what kind of data or information that you will lose to some complete strangers? Enough to jeopardize your life or your career?

If you dread the day that you lose your thumbdrive then it’s time to seriously think about securing you data. If I lose my thumbdrive tomorrow or even later, I won’t have to worry as my storage is automatically locked and secured even when someone just snatch it off of the USB slot while I am at the washroom.

So what is this tool that I’m talking about? It’s called “USB Disk Pro” and I accidentally found it on pendrive’s website, while helping my brother searching for some drivers.

This tool is actually made to work for a certain brand of thumb drives but I managed to make it work with mine. However, before I proceed, let me explain how this is supposed to work with the “official” thumbs.

Do you have any old unused Nokia 3310 lying around? Why not make a firework launcher? Hari Raya is coming soon and those are the times that many children get their limbs blown off by firing off fireworks. So being a responsible adult that you are, you can make a remote firework launcher and impress the children.

This also satisfied my curiosity on how some people use handphones to detonate.. eh - I cannot say.. you know.. terrorism-related activities.. the reason why our government requires everyone register their SIM cards.
