Over-ambitious Scammer

A man who probably think this will be his last con job and will retire with his soon-to-buy golden yatch in the Bahamas, saw his dreams end in prison because of his greed. His 360 billion dollar greed.

stupid scammer

Charles Ray Fuller, 21 (pic right) was arrested on suspicion of forgery when he tried to cash out a check for 360 billion! Hahaha.

I think his eyes were sparkling with dollars sign when he wrote the 9 zeroes on the cheque (that’s $360,000,000,000). Reminds me of Dr Evil, “one milliiiooonnn dollars!” (but in this case, it’s the opposite).

Is there any hope left for Malaysian football?

Just when you think Malaysian football can’t get any worse, it did.

Several players have been hauled up by the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) for match-fixing suspicions and many more are expected to be called up soon as the investigation continue to follow the money trail. Only time will tell if this latest shameful act is as worse as what happened in 1994-1995 when nearly 100 players had to be banished for their part in match-fixing. Unless you haven’t reached your puberty yet then you should know that one of those players banished was Matlan Marjan, Sabah’s most potent modern-day striker and ex-national.

He was just given the Malaysian captaincy and led the national team againts the Brazil veterans, a few weeks before he was locked up in jail during investigations. It was really shameful, especially for Sabahans and I think football lovers in the state still talk about it regretfully.

Regarding the current episode, you’d think that I meant this as a joke but of the two teams whose players are being investigate, one of them is the PDRM FA - PDRM for Polis Di Raja Malaysia. Yes, you read that right - the Police FA! Though not all of the players are the police, but still, it is the Police FA.

I’m sure some of you will say it’s no surprise heh.

So what is the best solution for this country? Legalising betting? I think that would only make it worse. Look at Singapore - they legalised betting and still 1 team was on the take.

Education is the proper way. FAM also should get sponsors so the team can pay their players’ salaries on time and also make the league better managed, to make it more prestigious and give it more class. We have daily shows on the EPL and yet, only one hour per week courting the local league. Sometimes even the mainstream news wouldn’t show the goal video clips from the matches, instead just give out the results on the screen and then show goal video clips from the EPL.

Tell me where’s the priority. It’s like the local league has been forgotten. Probably a corporate or private body should manage the league.

Save the horses and don’t tarnish Sabah’s image!

save the melinsung horses

As a Sabahan, I am deeply embarrased by this episode and I really hope the DVS make their stand and prosecute those who responsible!

In case you didn’t know, the issue of the “dying horses” in a ranch in Melinsung is still on-going and now took an embarassing turn of events. Apparently the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) in Sabah is “covering” up for the owner, who is KK ex-Mayor Datuk Abdul Ghani Rashid. After the SPCA reported the problem to the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) in Sabah through the central DVS in Kuala Lumpur, they decided to simply monitor the case and work with the owner to improve the conditions of the horses.

Now latest reports from SPCA Representative Sue Quek, state that “There are only around 30 left and animals are still suffering and dying.”

On 1st April, the DVS cleared the ranch, with the following claims

The Veterinary Services Department has cleared the Melinsung ranch of rumours that its horses were in urgent need of care.
Its director, Datuk Awang Sahak Salleh, said reports over the Internet on the matter were untrue.

“I have received more than 200 emails from all over the world about the matter. It is shocking. We have been monitoring the horses at the ranch on a weekly basis and are satisfied with the living conditions.

“As far as I am concerned, the problem has been solved. I even took an officer from the World Society for the Protection of Animals in Bangkok to observe conditions at the ranch.”

Awang Sahak was commenting on online allegations that horses at the ranch were poorly looked after.
Ranch owner Col Datuk Abdul Ghani Rashid denied rumours that his horses had been confiscated and that he had been banned from rearing horses.

Here’s what the officer from Bangkok said about the news.

As Datuk Awang Salleh mentioned, I did visit Melingsung Ranch with the DVS officers who have been supervising the Ranch for the last one month, afterwards I had a meeting with Datuk Awang Salleh and the Head Enforcement Officer Dr Amat, at this meeting I told them that had this cruelty been reported in KL I am confident that the DVS there would have confiscated immediately and pushed ahead for prosecution. I told them that 80% of the horses I saw at the Ranch that day (2nd March 2008) were in poor condition most likely due to chronic malnutrition.

Also, as the DVS Sabah have been happy to applaud themselves in this case I would like to state here that the lack of welfare training these Officers (some of whom are Veterinarians) have is paltry considering they are responsible for enforcing the Laws regarding animal cruelty, even so, the SPCA and myself found that they are confused over the Laws that are applicable within Sabah and who indeed should be enforcing and prosecuting the Laws. Any persons who could look at these horses and state ‘good condition’ at any point in the last 6 months must be inept

Here’s how you can help, link to this page (http://www.spca.org.my/horse.htm) and send an email to the ones listed there.

Shame on you Abdul Ghani and shame on Datuk Awang Sahak Salleh! BOO!

Learning maths increases your libido?

An update on Sufiah, the child math genius who turned into an escort.

After the news broke, a few other follow-up news articles came up, from the shocked ex-husband to our Higher Education Minister who wants to help her. It’s no surprise however that Sufiah herself would have her own interview and statement out in the news.

sufiah yusof escort naked pictures

Basically what she’s saying is, please stop stereotyping escort girls! We are not sleazy and terrible!

She still solves maths questions, she remarked ““I don’t believe my education had been wasted – in fact, I usually take problem sheets with me to solve before appointments”. See, maths before sex.

She earns RM6,400 a night just by having dinner and spending the night with a client. If she works 5 nights a week for 10 months in a year (let us minus 2 months to cover for the “time of the month”), she still makes RM1.4 million. You don’t have to be a genius to figure that one out.

It’s on the internet, so it must be true

I can’t believe that this is happening in 2008. Apparently a hoaxer posted an ad on Craigslist and said that a homeowner was leaving the state, so all of his belonging are free for the taking. That prompted a few people to print out the ad that became their license to steal. When the houseowner came home to find that strangers were taking his stuff for free, he confronted them only to be shown the printed ad.

It all started when a couple stole two horse saddles and other items days earlier when they visited the house to check out its room for rent. So how to cover their tracks? They had a crazy idea of getting other people to steal stuffs from the same house by posting an ad on the internet.

And as crazy as it seems, it worked. People responded to the ad and started taking things which they thought were meant to be given away.

The good news is, the police has tracked down and arrested the thieves masterminding the whole episode. Bad news is, apart from not finding the other stuff, what can stop this from happening again? This is the second time that it happened in the US, first time was in April last year. Hmmmm.

Anyway I can’t find the original craigslist ad so I don’t know what made it convincing enough.
