Abandonware Downloads

abandonware freeware
Sometimes you need old software for your old computer or because you don’t need all the bells and whistles of the latest version. vetusware is an archive of abandonware - softwares that aren’t being sold anymore. You can download them for free.

There are softwares even for the Win 3.1.

I haven’t tried any of the software yet but I need to keep note of it on my blog. Even the site looks like the MS-DOS era type - I hope it’s on purpose or else the webmaster has some serious design issues.

Free Makeover Software

freeware

While I was surfing through some of the plastic surgeon websites (don’t ask why, let’s just say I am doing some “research”), I stumbled upon this free makeover software from mybodypart.com.

The software is easy to use, it allows you to load your own picture (a sample included) and you can make your own virtual plastic surgery. You can even have a boob job! You can also change your hairstyle, wear specs, etc.

Ladies can use this to see how they will look like with a certain hairstyle or tattooed eyebrow. You can then let your husband/boyfriend to see if they approve it (then talk the financial aspects of it aftewards).

You know what will happen if I become a surgeon? Look at what happened to the sample model.

Firefox 2 Config Tweaks

Firefox 2 was released during the Raya holidays and I managed to installed it only yesterday. I didn’t notice any obvious speed improvement in the office though but I trust the developers when they say it is faster.

One of the new features of FF2 is the individual close button on each tab and I felt the inconvenience straight away when I closed one of my tabs after I accidentally clicked on the button.

On the previous version, I used the middle-mouse button to close the tabs.

How to use your PC and Webcam as a motion-detecting and recording security camera

My small family will be moving into our new home next year and I will put this tip on top of my projects to do at my new home.

I skimmed through the article and it seems easy to do, all you need is a computer (duh) running Win 98 and later, a web cam or two and Dorgem - an open source (free) webcam utility. It will capture pictures whenever motion is detected.

See what the author caught on his first day.
