Weird Colleagues Pt II

Man - I’m just glad in all my working years I’ve never had any food-stealing colleagues.

Just be thankful this wasn’t found in your office’s washroom. It makes me wonder, what caused the stickers to be made? Is it someone stinks or someone found out what some of the employees were doing in the toilet? Hmmmm.
You might ask, when did Mariah Carey have a song about a Chinese guy and who the heck is this Ken Lee? Did she dated him? And why should you care? Well probably because this is one of the most funniest video this year and probably a new viral.
The most sad part is, only the female judge finds it funny. The rest probably didn’t see what’s wrong with the song.
So now we all have to sing it like this
Ken Leeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Tulibu dibu douchooooo
hahahaha!
Listen to the song from the following video.
Recognise it? Yep, it’s from Enigma’s Return to Innocence. I didn’t know this story before but apparently Enigma used the old man’s voice without permission and after making millions with it, they didn’t even compensate him. Even worse, they didn’t even recognize him as the performer for the song. His name is Di Fang, an elder from a tribe in Taiwan. The song is actually an elders’ drinking song.
When approached by them, Enigma’s production company challenged them to bring them to court, hoping that the millions of money needed to bring the case would deter them. However with the support of the Taiwanese people they did in 1997 and justice prevailed 2 years later when the lawsuit was resolved out of court in Difang’s favor. In the settlement, Enigma’s recording company agreed to compensate Difang financially.
DiFang passed away in 2002 at the age of 82.
Actually, at first I thought it was sung by a Native American and I usually have that image in my head whenever I hear it. Well I think from now on, I can correct this mistake, and give due recognition to the late Di Fang though it’s only in my head.
Okay I have to make this my last election-related blog post or I have to change the title of this blog ![]()
It’s braggy time for me.
During election results night, I was having a small party for my wife and together with the other family members, wait for the election results. I also prepared a laptop for those net-savvy to check online and I was wondering, which websites should I tell them to go to? I search under google and didn’t get any good pages. Most of them were talking about the election but not the “live results”. I figured out there must be a few who would search for the term “Malaysia election live results” and probably I could get some traffic (yes, I’m a traffic whore).
So I quickly posted an entry titled “Malaysia general election live results“, pinged PPS and continued partying.
Did it work? Well I was wrong about “a few” who would be searching for that term. There were thousands! Here’s a snapshot of my unique hits that weekend (observe Saturday)

Keep in mind I posted the entry at around 7.33pm. At midnight, my blog was #1 on Google’s search result for the keywords “malaysia election live results” and in the top 3 for other variations. Due to the alcohol in my head, I didn’t take any snapshot. Anyway, it was even higher than “The Star” and also SPR websites. On Sunday afternoon though I dropped to #8 but traffic was still higher than normal. Today I’m on the third page already ![]()
Here were the keywords to my blog :

My adsense earnings? It tripled on Saturday and doubled on Sunday. Heehee but Monday it was back to normal boohoo.
My point? Well obviously Google really like fresh content and emmm, sometimes it doesn’t take too much effort just to bring in the traffic (though this is just a short duration of time). This also means we can get some quick and temporary traffic by observing the local “hot” issues.
Okay no more election-related post, until something really interesting comes up hehe.
