Have you seen the reality show “Who wants to be a superhero“? Personally it looks moronic at worse (but somehow I watch til the end last time). Anyway, you don’t have to go through all the trouble just to be a superhero.

You can be a superhero in real life - you just need a costume (of course) and a clear objective, whether it’s fighting crimes, pollution or corrupted officials. Gadgets are optional.

There are people who take this superhero seriously and you can check the list on this page on Wiki. There is also a website called “World Superhero Registry“, though the site design looks really outdated (1996 style).

Let’s take a look at one superhero.

Superbarrio - he wears red tights and a red and yellow wrestler’s mask. Rather than fight crime and corruption with violence, he uses his unique image to organize labor rallies and protests, and file petitions.

“I opened my eyes and found myself as you see me with a voice telling me, ‘You are Superbarrio,’” he said, explaining that his name means super-neighborhood. “I can’t stop a plane or a train single-handed, but I can keep a family from being evicted.”

His identity remained unknown but he is the heroes of the poor and the lower class. You can read more about Superbarrio here.

There are other interesting heroes but I think Superbarrio is the one that is really worthwhile for me to mention.
