Err.. what did she say?

It’s Monday! Here’s my pick from the net’s video chart, it’s a video of the answer given by the representative of South Carolina for the Teen USA beauty pageant held last week.
She was answering to the question of why “1/5 of the US population cannot locate the US on a world map.”
Listen to her answer after the jump. You won’t get any smarter.
FYI - This video was viewed 1.4 million times on the first day it was posted. The good news? She didn’t win.

It’s obvious that the poor girl, Lauren (?) Caitlin Upton, 18 was very nervous - she was fluffing almost every other word.

Yahoo News reported that she reanswered the question on another show: “I would love to re-answer that question. Well personally, my friends and I, we know exactly where the United States is on our map. I don’t know anyone else who doesn’t. And if the statistics are correct, I believe there should be more emphasis on geography.”
That was much better than her previous response, which included “U.S. Americans” and mentions of South Africa and “the Iraq.”

Transcript of what she said during the pageant: “I personally believe… that U.S. Americans are unable to do so… because…uh… some people out there in our nation don’t have maps…and… uh… I believe that our education, like such as in South Africa and… uh… the Iraq, everywhere, like, such as…and I believe that they should…our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S… uh…or, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries…so we will be able to build up our future… for our [children].
