KK Bloggers Meet Update
Well.. am I the last one to report on this event? ![]()
Sorry ah. Have you ever have that feeling of trying to stay away from the computer for as long as you can? I think my brain was so drained by work that during the weekend I was looking forward to not staring at the monitor though I kept on thinking of updating this event, because it was fun and memorable.
Well on the bloggers meet… I SURVIVED! And by survive I don’t mean going through the night with complete but really friendly strangers, who by the end of the night, became friends.
I survived the endless swaying and movement of the floorboard. Right after I stepped on the boat, a crew welcome us and my reply to them was if they have any motion-sickness pill available. Luckily there was and I kindly asked for them.
My family and me before we stepped onto the boat (I forgot to change the settings before passing the camera to the crew to take the picture, hence the bad quality).
Anyway, before we went to the boat, we registered ourselves at the makeshift counter and met with Jacq, Jewelle, Webgrrl (who was with her son Eric and had just arrived before us) and Ben.
Then as we proceed to the jetty, a bald headed but skinny guy was on the opposite direction. Yes, it was the Gallivanter himself. I was expecting him to be a very big and muscular guy. Blame it on him for only showing his head on his blog and left his visitors to imagine how his body measure. Luckily he was not really skinny either but he has enough hair chest to show it off.
So after getting to know each other, we step onto the boat.
Right on the upper deck we met with jefri, papajoneh, mysabah, pairacy, mark, julian, josie, rachel and err a few more I can’t remember. My son Jordan didn’t waste anytime making friends with Eric (Webgrrrl’s son) and soon, both of them were running and jumping all over the place.

Soon, more people arrived. Many just stood around where the food were and didn’t come up.
So after like 30 minutes or so, Gall took to the mic and announced dinner was ready. Webgrrl was the happiest of the bunch hehe!
People attacking the food that was begging to be eaten.
Joining us at our table were Yolanda and Melissa. Together with my wife, they were all ex-cons. Yes, they were ex-students of St Francis Convent. So it was a mini-reunion for them and were chatting about other ex-cons. I was just happy to be eating my food without being affected by the waves.

During makan, Yolanda made a mistake of asking Jordan, a toddler with his mouth full of food, what he was eating. Jordan just opened wide his mouth and showed her the food. Haha. Luckily she still can eat.
Gall and Jacq did joined us for a while, separately though.
After the food, Gall called everyone up to the upper deck for the lucky draw. I heard Nuffnang sponsored some (or all) of the prizes. The prizes were a bunch of thumbdrives and Bon Jovi’s latest album CD. I didn’t win anything iskk.
But it’s ok, I just bought a 2GB thumbdrive recently and also already downloa… err eh nothing la.

At that time, the boat took off and became the front of Waterfront
. Gall asked everyone to give the finger to the lame-asses at Toscani’s but papajoneh’s idea was even better, which was to “moon” them. But there were kids around so we didn’t get to do that.

After the lucky draw, everyone was given the chance to step up to the mic and introduce themselves. We even got the honour of listening to a lengthy advise from Jefri about the importance of learning other blogs’ story.
Smokehead of mysabah.com mentioned that he’s just a normal person who likes to blog (or something like that), which Gallivanter interrupted him and said “all of us are normal too”. Hehehe.
Then as the boat was returning to the jetty, it was picture taking time! Everyone took out their cameras and went picture crazy.
Seeing it was already 10.30PM and Jordan was about to get cranky, we left the boat. Jordan has flu running out his nose already haha. I think he enjoyed the night the most among the 3 of us.
Thanks to Jacq and Gallivanter for making it a success! God-willing, I’m sure I’ll join the next gathering again!
Watch out for the next post - more pictures!

Hoiyoh…I also thought that Gallivanter was this big, humongous weight lifter kind of person. And PaPaJoneh is actually skinny? He he…

Yeah, I get that all the time. In my defense, I lost a lot of weight and muscle mass thanks to exam stress and shoulder injury, can’t wait to gain it back. Looking forward to the next meet!

Judging from Gallivanter’s huge smile, I’d say he’s having the time of his life. Is he not? What a pity, I wasn’t in KK that time
