Or just same old same old?
After Malaysia’s crushing 5-1 and 5-0 defeats, our FAM (Football Association of Malaysia) deputy Vice-President has *FINALLY* realised that EVERYONE in the country has been waiting for him to step down after all these dark years.
Last week, after China crushed Malaysia 5-1, Tengku Abdullah asked the fans to ask the coach and players what went wrong but after another drubbing, he resigned. Everyone knows the problem in the quality of our football goes far beyond the pitch. It’s good news that he has resigned.
Let us pray that no VIP idiots will ask him to reconsider and hope that he will not join in the election contest again.
Some videos, pictures and the “good” news link (via ed_rief)
Look at Supermokh (the late Mokthar Dahari) weaving thru the defences
A great Selangor side beating Singapore. Look at the players running WITH the ball, as opposed to our current players who are running CHASING the ball.

ppl inside politics should not hold ANY position in any sports council/associations. it’s like asking monkeys to teach secondary students Physics..

There is a suggestion by my fellow teachers…why don’t we rotate our player according to zon (pantai barat or sabah/sarawak) to see who is the best player? Not so good player + no so good management = not so good team…just my 2cent

They should have all resigned 20 or so years ago la. Now it’s way too late to redeem Malaysian football from the doldrums. No commitment, No drive, No ambition, No nothing. That’s what the whole FAM and the national team are all about. How I long for the days of Hassan Sani, James Wong, Mokhtar Dahari, Soh Cin Aun, R. Arumugam, Santokh Singh, etc …. I personally don’t feel Malaysian football will ever come close to those great players ever again!!! Sighhhhhhh …..

Tengku Abdullah resigned once in 1993, there’s no guarantee he’ll not be back next year.
FAM prez need to go too. If what he said justifying why he shouldn’t quit is acceptable, then nobody in the world will quit or get sacked.
I dont think it’s the coach - Claude Le Roy coached us once and we failed miserably. He went on to Cameroon and what happens? They qualified for the WC.
According to somewhere I read, of all the elements in the equation, only one has not been changed - the top management.
I have a hobby of collecting pre and post match press conference quotes for football and boxing matches - quite hilarious sometimes:

The banner says “We have world class facilities but third class management”.
Well, facilities and management alone won’t win matches.
Just look at Iraq, a country still at war. Harry Kewell’s salary alone would still be bigger than Iraqi players salary combined.
And where is Iraq? On top of the table after beating the star-studded Australia 3-1.
It’s all about the talent.

well.. the Sultan is holding tight to his post.. u can read the story here http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2007/7/17/sports/18321189&sec=sports
funny but somehow, dumb quote..
“We will have something new up our sleeves. I will not let them (the fans) down. I have been the FAM president for 22 years and I know the tricks of the trade,” said the Sultan.
Errr I think our football has been under the black clouds for 22 years.. maybe this time they/he should try to get something from inside their heads and not under their sleeves..
