Trash the dress!

Is that a suicidal bride? Nope. She’s actually trashing her wedding dress. Yikes.
Well this is not an act of defiance to the solemnity of marriage or getting back at your husband, but actually, quite the opposite. You only get married once right? (let’s keep those Hollywood celebrities out of this). So this act is just to show that you won’t need that dress anymore.
And unlike in Malaysia and most parts of Asia, where we rent our wedding dresses, those in the utd states usually buy them. And finding the perfect dress ain’t easy. First there’s the price and then, if your body size is not the “common” size, you have to do some adjustment to it.

And all of that just to wear once? For those who are married, you know the tension and mental-challenges that came in your way. Maybe this is the method to release all of that pressures and just to complete the whole thing.
So some of these new brides decided to trash their dresses but of course, not just for the act of trashing, but also to have professional photos of them taken. How often do you see brides with their beautiful gowns on fire or lying on the beach?

If you decide to do this, just make sure the following are in order
- you are not renting the dress from the bridal shops
- if these were custom-made for you, tell the designer in advance to prevent him from suffering a heart attack when you start to light your train
- your husband give his consent eventhough he knows the actual price the dress could fetch at the 2nd hand shop
- you have the financial support to buy for your daughters their own wedding dresses now that you have nothing to pass on to
- Make sure the fire-extinguisher is within reach and most of all working fine if you plan to do the fire thing.
Okay once you have all of that out of the way, fire away!

I’ll bet some of those husbands are now probably wondering why they didn’t burn the bride together with the dress when they had the chance … LOL.
