Astro online form is actually a blackhole
First and foremost, I would like to say I am sorry that I have misled you, my dear readers into thinking that Astro care about you and your time.
A little more than a week ago, I posted a link to a page on Astro’s website that you can use to change your subscription package. I used that form to change my own subscription, my sister’s account and my in-laws’.
However, up until last Sunday the movie package which I dropped was still available, so I rang their customer support. I was surprised that there is no request to change my subscription whatsoever. The support says no email or memo sent.
Worse, when I said I used the online form on Astro’s website, the lady was dumbfounded, she has no idea what I was talking about. She said it’s better that I just call, so that the changes will be applied within 24-hours. I requested my change there and then, and finally last night the movie package was dropped.
So if you did use the online form, just ignore it and give them a call. I guess that is just Astro’s tactic to delay your request because they want to charge the expensive rates on you, day by day.
Astro sucks. When will this monopoly by Astro end? Imagine if we have more than one satellite provider in the country, we will be getting quality channel plus good service at cheap prices. Just look at our mobile scene. Cheap SMS and talktime because of intense rivalry.

I seriously don’t think in a business sense, they would let you downgrade easily via web? I also thinking of downgrading lah. I took the whole stuff but am not utilizing it.

Bravo mr. badak! I think astro should use the above new logo. And the relevant govt authority???? What’re they doing about the unfair monopoly? NOTHING!!!! And we CLAIM that we’re a fast developing country… i think even several less developed countires care enough for their people not to allow monopoly of one STOOPED satelite station like ASTERUK!!! Suka-suka sia kasi naik bayaran utk rancangan-rancangan yg balik-balik ulang…ulang…ulang……….sampai kiamat! MEASAT 2 konon….sama sia! Hujan/awan sikit…TV terus GELAP!!!

I had the same problem when I ordered Astromax. I used the online form as it promised a rebate, waited a few days and got no response (and this was at the height of their “I’ve got time” campaign when they’re supposed to be aggressive). When I finally called them, the lady had to take down all my particulars again. Why would they if my application was on record. If the customer has to intervene after posting the form it means their system is not working. Got people sleeping at the wheel I guess.

Well, instead of complaining, we could all just boycott Astro and see how they survive, but I don’t think that will happen cos people will just complain and still pay for it, rite? That’s why Astro doesn’t give a damn about its customer base cos they know we will still pay no matter what kind of crap they impose. I’m as guilty as everyone else in this matter. I complain every day but I still subscribe for their service, what choice do i have? Sorry if I’m being too blunt people, but things can never change if we ALL don’t do something about it. But I agree with all you guys that Astro is a bunch of cheats!

a while back (2005 i think it was) i tried calling the hotline. couldn’t get through after trying for days. so i decided to send them an email instead. had to wait almost a week to get a call back from their customer service.

Your package monthly payment or quarterly? If monthly and paid already maybe wont loose much lah. Kalo quarterly, you should ask them to change the package upon expire of your quarterly payments cos if change immediately, u paid already, u rugi lah if they drop the package that u want. My astro still valid until July… sudah bayar punya.. so wait lah until then baru tukar. if tukar now, they drop the packages within 24 hours.. sia rugi! ahhahaha
