2012 London Olympics Logo : Hot or not?

When the London Olympics 2012 committee unveiled their logo for the summer games a few days ago, it received instant negative feedback from the British media. Comments heard were weird, hideous, uncreative to kid’s play. Some even call it the worst logo of all Olympic games.

The reported epileptic seizures when viewing the promotional video with the logo didn’t help the cause at all.

For me, the logo is okay, looks modern but looks like more appropriate for a t-shirt brand, not for the olympics but that’s exactly what they were trying to do - to create a brand instead of a logo. Why the media and public backlash? Well because it took them a year to come up with it and cost them 400K pounds.

BBC News readers showed that they can do a better job by sending in their own alternative logo suggestions, you can check them out here and here.

I checked out all the other past (and 1 future) games’ logo just out of curiosity - here I share with you. All of these logos were taken from the Olympic games website.

Games earlier than 1924 didn’t have logos.
