Natasha Demkina, from Saransk, Russia was only 10-years old when she surprised her mother by telling her that she can see her internal organs and proceeded to describe each one of them.

I was at home with my mother and suddenly I had a vision. I could see inside my mother’s body and I started telling her about the organs I could see. Now, I have to switch from my regular vision to what I call medical vision. For a fraction of a second, I see a colorful picture inside the person and then I start to analyze it.” says Demkina

Her story began to spread by word of mouth among the local population and people began gathering outside her door seeking medical consultations.

After the news of her super-human ability spread all over medical world, she made TV appearances in UK and America, making live diagnosis of volunteers on the show. She also diagnose problems on tv hosts, journalists and doctors, though most of her claims were proven wrong when she left the country.

Skeptics claimed victory after they tested her when she was in America. During a four-hour experiment, she was asked to match 6 specified anatomical anomalies (given to her on pieces of papers) to seven volunteer subjects, one of which was a “normal” person. The experimenters (debunkers) said that if she can matched at least 5, then they would need further testing on her.

Natasha only managed 4 correct matches, which itself was a 1 in 50 or less than 2% - making her success rate a “statistically significant result”.

After the experiments, Natasha complained over the way they were conducted and about the way in which she and her diagnosis were treated. One of it was that she had been presented with two patients who had undergone abdominal procedure, but that she had only one abdominal condition on her list of potential diagnosis, leaving her confused as to which one matched the listed condition

According to one of her supporter’s website, the debunkers were already set their mind to humiliate and injure her reputation even before the experiment began.

After the New York experiments, she was again tested in Japan but this time with certain conditions set by her, including the diagnosis restricted to a single specific part of the body – the head, the torso, or extremities - which she was to be informed of in advance. There she claimed she correctly diagnose all of the subjects experiment brought to her, including a dog which she identified had an artificial device in its back right leg.

Natasha, now 20 years old, currently works in the Center of Special Diagnostics of the Person (TSSD) back in her home country, whose stated purpose is to diagnose and treat illness in cooperation with “experts possessing unusual abilities, folk healers and professionals of traditional medicine.”
