Get 375 days in a year
According to DumbLittleMan.com, he wakes up everyday without fail at 4am and do whatever that he wants to do, faster and with energy. He calculated that he gained an extra 10 days in a year.
I couldn’t agree with him more. Last year I managed to tune my body to wake up 4am everyday for a couple of months. The main reason I did that was because my son didn’t want to sleep without his parents in bed together with him. So most of the time, my wife and I would ended up sleeping with him too.
But then I started to wake up really early and found myself quite fresh at that time. I made it a habit so that I can do some more of my personal thing.
However, the World Cup 2006 ruined my body clock and now I am back to sleepy late nights. I don’t know why I didn’t go back to that schedule. Well after reading the post, I think I will try to emulate that dumb man’s not-really-dumb strategy seriously.
His tips are simple
- When you feel tired and sleepy, go to bed. Even when it’s before 10pm. Listen to your body.
- Wake up at the same time everyday (no extra sleeping time during the weekends)
- Take a lunch-hour power nap if you can
I would like to add one more powerful tip from Kacper M. Postawski, the sleep science researcher. This tip is taken from “Powerful Sleep - Secrets of the Inner Sleep Clock” ebook.
If you always find yourself in bed, looking at the ceiling and having difficulty getting to sleep, one of the tips which work for me is, DON’T DO ANYTHING IN BED except for sleeping and also making out with your partner. That means no book reading, playing with your games with your handphone or other things that keeps your mind active.
If you follow this tip, in time whenever you place your head on your comfy pillow, you’ll be dozing off in no time. This method tells your body that whenever you’re in that environment (your bed, pillow and yes, the smell), you need to go to sleep (or making out but that really depends on your partner
)
How are you doing with your sleep? Do you feel 24-hours is enough for you?

Couldn’t agree more. That ebook (powerfulsleep/wonderfulsleep) was my saviour not long time ago when I experienced trouble with major insomnia.
