You might say “huh”? What the heck is paraskevidekatriaphobics?

Well it’s not some kind of parasites - though it can be thought of a disease for some people. The term paraskavedekatriaphobia is the name for the morbid fear of Friday the 13th, which is today. We will have 2 Friday the 13th this year, the next one is in July. The most it can have in a year is 3 Fridays.

The fear for this day is the most common superstition in the US if not the world. Many will not go to work today or even go outside their house, fearing bad luck. Come to think of it, no wonder I reached the office quite early today. Not so much traffic. Either that or I went out to early to go to work

If you’re a Sabahan (or even a Malaysian), the Project IC issue should trouble you and cause you to lose sleep.

To benefit those who don’t know what I’m talking about - some quarters claim that there exists a so-called Project IC or Project Mahathir which was commissioned by some politicians a few years back. They registered and gave illegal immigrants (mostly from Philippines and Indonesia) genuine Identity Cards so that they become Sabahan/Malaysian and thus eligible to vote. Of course, in return they have to vote for a certain party.

An individual who was jailed under the ISA (now already released) for his involvement in this pathetic work have published a tell-all book. He has said through the media that he has betrayed his country and now wants to make good. He has offered himself available to the police to give statement.
