Hehehe. I shouldn’t be making fun of my friend but I just have to. You might have heard that there are many sudden-millionaires walking around and calling/telling their friends that they’re making it rich online, and want them to join under them.

Well my friend have been approach by this online investment too. So our SMS went like this (translation in brackets).

Friend : boss - buli pecaya ka tu Euro index tu? (can we trust those Euro index stuff?)

Me : Ada yg buli. Ada yg tidak. Buli try tapi jangan telampau sampai tiada duit beli susu anak kau. (There are trustworthy programs and some aren’t. You can try but don’t use the money to buy food for your baby)

Friend : Oh tapi kerajaan Malaysia buli tutup ka tu website? (Oh but can the Malaysian government close the website?)

Bad news. I’ll be offline at least for a week.

I’m moving to our new place already next week and will be on leave for a week. My current house phone line has been terminated by TM yesterday as requested but then they stood me up for an hour at the new place.

A 3pm appointment to install the wiring was forgotten just like that. Even worse, no calls whatsoever. I tried to call whoever it was that called me a day earlier but no answer. As of now, I am still waiting for their call to explain their no-show yesterday.

I will try to check my email from my nephew’s place though - that is if his phone line don’t get disconnected as well (he has this habit of paying bills 2 months behind).

Earlier this week, I met with this local chinese businessman. He owns several businesses from palm oil to tradeshows booths supply. A few years back, a friend of mine helped him setup his own domain plus website but now they’re all gone because he didn’t pay the annual web hosting fee.

Why didn’t he pay? Well not because he forgot or anything, he just didn’t want to. That was why he met me. He asked me if it’s possible to setup a domain name plus website, with a one-off payment. That is, he will NEVER have to pay again.

I said, of course lah possible. All he has to do is pay in advance. Of course if he wants his domain name to exist forever, that will take a lot.

But I was shocked when I found out how stingy and ungenerous this guy is.

Just some notification that I won’t be updating my blog as much for the next few weeks. I am moving to a new house in the first week of April and there are many things occupying my time, both in the office and at home.

Also, I’ve been receiving complaints from my friends and colleagues that I didn’t post pictures of our on-going house renovation.

Well looks like I am finally bowing to pressures. However I will post the pictures on my personal blog here www.joeff.net.

So I will update mrBadak.com once in a while but if you miss me that much then you can head on over to my personal blog.
