All Wikipedia links now NOFOLLOW

Well - looks like an option for webmasters to get a “vote” from the search engine in giving their sites credit has been closed. From now on all external links from Wikipedia will have the rel=nofollow attribute automatically placed on them.

This attribute will cause Google’s bot to “skip” the link, not giving it any credit and nor visiting it. The motive for this move is preventing spammers from abusing Wiki. However I think honest webmasters with good content and have links coming in from Wiki gets affected too. But I do know a few webmasters who abused Wiki - by placing links on unrelated and unmoderated topics.

Reddit is better than Digg?

Digg.com, the news-democracy site is losing more and more fans. It seems that the minority can completely bury a story eventhough it receives a lot of diggs. Why is it so? Maybe because they just don’t like the story or it offends them - but then where is the democracy?

That’s just like the politicians in Sabah a few years back. After winning the election, they will quickly jump ship and change party and label his acts “in the interest of the people”. righttttttttttttttt.

Reddit has the same basic model however no minorities can change the ranking of any items.

As for myself, I seldom go to digg anymore because the site loads too slow for my liking. I go to reddit more nowadays.
