Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi. I wanted to post this sooner but hey, it’s still Christmas anyway so.. here’s wishing you a merry and joyous Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Internet is crawling now since the earthquake in Southen Taiwan broke the undersea lines. That’s why I’m here updating my blog since I can’t open some of my favourite forums.

I’m also on leave the whole week. Funny, this blogging stuff is like my office stuff pulak. I’m on leave, this blog also on leave.

Well… the New Year’s coming and as usual, I’m preparing my 2007 list of things I hope to achieve (half of them forwarded from this year’s list).

I’m also in need of a motto and a motivational song… 50 Cent’s “Get rich or die trying” sounds nice but I don’t like to get shot 9 times though.

What about you? Have any plans for next year? Let me know, I might want to copy :D

Images next to adsense now violates policy

Okay the Google Adsense team has decided to clear the confusion and straightened the records that any images placed next to the adsense ad are indeed in violation of it’s policy (even though in the past its support rep says they weren’t).

Well I’m just glad that this trick is not my highest performing ad, though the CTR was raised a little compared with no images.

I will remove them soon. I’ve removed them already. For the other webmasters/publishers, this is a new directive and was posted last Monday (my birthday) and yes, even if you put a line in between your images and the ads, they’re still violating the policy, below is the sample that is not allowed.

Thanks to Bob for letting me know.

Amazing Lyrebirds

amazing bird mimics sound
Lyrebirds have one of the best vocal ability in terms of impersonating the sound it hears. These birds are among Australia’s best-known native birds, even though they are rarely seen in their natural habitat.

In this short video, you can see and hear, the bird mimicking the sound of a camera shutter (one with the sound of its motor-drive!), car alarm and motorised chainsaw.

Video after the jump.

How to get the “No to all” option

Now I was surprised that this tip came out very late and I thought I knew all that is needed to know about Windows tips.

I’m sure you came across this scenario, you selected a lot of files and copied them to another folder then the “Confirm File Replace” windows appear.

*edit* sorry the snapshot of the windows box yesterday was wrong. I’ve corrected it today (22.Dec.06).

You don’t want windows to overwrite those files but instead just copy the new files. So you click ‘No’, then the same confirmation box appears again, this time asking for a confirmation on a another file. You’d know if you click No the box will appear yet again for another file.
