One red paper clip for a house fulfilled

got him this

Finally the blogger who wanted a house and started trading his red paper clip moved into his new home last sunday and most of the town residents threw him a house warming party. I blogged about his quest back in December 2005.
During the party, he also proposed to his long-time girlfriend using the same red paperclip that started it all. 12 of the 14 traders during his journey were also present.
The following are the things that changed hands.
- a doorknob
- a Coleman stove
- a power generator
- a keg of beer
- a snowmobile
- a trip to Yahk, B.C.
- a cube van
- a recording contract
- a year’s free lodging in a Phoenix bungalow
- an afternoon with rock icon Alice Cooper
- a KISS snow globe

Amazing: took only about about a year and 15 trades to get from a paperclip to a house. But some are very generous swaps: the jumps in value are too great for this method to be practically copied.
