Click : Movie Review

Well.. I spent the long lunch during Friday today to watch Adam Sandler’s latest movie - Click together with my wife. I’ve watched many of Sandler’s movie (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Waterboy and the boring Mr Deeds) but this is by far the best movie to come out of him.

Certainly not the funniest but the message that the movie brings, will hit straight into many career-minded and workaholic men’s heart. It was un-easy for me too because I was afraid someday I will be like Sandler’s character - always chasing something in life and not appreciating the current times, especially the times with your family.

Sandler trying to get out of a difficult situation using the remote

This movie revolves around Michael Newmann, who received a non-returnable TiVo-like universal remote control where he can fast forward through life and do many other things. But the gadget can store his personal preferences and will “click” it for him - which will prove disastrous.

The storyline is just like Bruce Almighty cuz they have the power to control the universe like God, but this is much better. I checked and both writers for this movie also has credits for Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey - that’s why same theme.

But this is Sandler we’re talking about so there’s a fart joke in there too.

You’ve got to be crazy to be fast-forwarding when making out with her

It was funny when he was enjoying it but gets more sad towards the end. The scene where he last met his father was a real tear jerker.

With a good cast made up of Kate Beckinsale (hot hot hot), Christopher Walken, David Hasselhoff, Sean Astin (Sam of the Hobbits, LotR), James Earl Jones (providing his life’s commentary on-screen) and a short appearance by Terry Crews (”Schwarzenegro” from White Chicks). Even Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of Cranberries made an appearance singing “Linger”, the on-screen couple’s “love song”.

Best laugh-scene is when he gives the finger under the rain. Haha. Go and watch it!

I’d give it 4 out of 5. Real good. If Kate Beckinsale put on a leathersuit (like in Underworld) then it would get 5 out of 5 :))
