Siti & Datuk K : Part II

Well… I didn’t expect the swarm of Siti’s fans and ex-fans (hehe) would bring down my site on Monday evening. So.. thats is how a digg-effect will feel like huh? But of course this is only a mini-digg effect. Look at my stats below.

my stats
Drastic increase on Monday (started after lunchtime).

Actually, this domain is packaged together with SabahRhinos.com, so the bandwidth of both of my domains are combined, so when the sudden high resource usage started, the nice staff at ExaBytes took my site down and moved it to another server (which they say has less resource-hungry accounts).

Who would’ve thought my post in October 2005 has become the top keyword for my visitors. Anyway, reading through the 200++ comments, I need to say this.

JUST ACCEPT SITI’S DECISION LAH. Just be glad that it’s not you who will have to clear the moustache away from his lips before you can kiss him haha. I think Mawi’s decision to leave his fiance when in fact her family agreed to their engagement while he was jobless then is worse than this.

Finally, a picture of them together.

Eventhough Siti’s impending marriage is a bit abnormal (due to the age-gap), at least it’s not as bad as same-sex marriage or incest. Didn’t the most recent Wedding of the Year between Erra and Yusry taught us anything?

Their marriage only lasted 2 years and 10 months

Looks doesn’t matter. Age doesn’t matter. It’s the heart and soul of those in love that matter. You might say Siti wants his money or Datuk wants her money, but who are we to judge right? Only time will tell.

Their marriage actually reminded me of another top female singer who married her manager. When they got married in 1993, she was 28 and he was 54. Worse still, the groom has already married/divorced 3 times prior to his wedding to this talented diva. They are still together now and have a son. I am talking about Celine Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil.

Still going on strong

But really… Datuk K has given many middle-aged men in Malaysia that semangat “Kamu boleh!”. Don’t be surprised if there are many more wedding announcements to come from middle-age guys carting home younger wives.

For Datuk K’s ex-wife (whom he divorced in April 2005), she can write a book about this and get some money. Or probably she can write a song and ask Siti to sing it hehe.
