World Cup 2006 : My fav links
Well.. the world cup finals kicks off midnight tonight and you’d think I won’t post anything about it huh? Hehe.
Hmmm there’s nothing much I can post since you can get the news on countries and players pretty much from everywhere nowadays (newspapers, radio, tv) . So I’ll just share with you some of the sites that I go to.
You don’t have to go to many sites since the news are all the same unless you want to read the news that Rooney’s broken metatarsal has healed in different tones.
- FIFA World Cup 2006
The official website and you can get almost everything here. One of the most useful thing here is the schedule time. Malaysia timezone is ahead of Germany by 6 hours but just to be sure, you can click on the time matches displayed there, and convert it to the local Msian time (or wherever you are at the moment). - World Cup History
This site is also on Yahoo but you can find out some history on the teams and players here. Nothing like telling your mates that you know some football history and you can be like Shebby Singh for a few seconds. - ESPN Soccernet World Cup
A news site little heavy on the England-side but hey, it’s the next best supported teams in Malaysia (beside Brazil). England has so many supporters here that the oh-so-boring Akademi Fantasia 4 regular concert on Saturday night has been moved to Sunday noon because it clashes with England’s opener againts Paraguay. - Asian Bookie
I know the World Cup turns many people into overnight betters just because everyone else is doing it. Even my sister who don’t know the difference between Manchester Utd and Liverpool asked for my opinion during the last event because she joined a betting pool in the office. Anyway, this site has some tips and forums discussions on which team to place your money on. - Gamebookers.com
For those who has the tips from the previous link and don’t want any Ah Longs to splash red paint on their cars or houses, you can place your bet online and my recommendation is Gamebookers.com.
Why? Because I can bet in Ringgit (after topping up my accounts using credit card) and the minimum is RM1 haha. Cheapest bookies here has a minimum of RM50 and they aren’t so friendly after you win (or lose and don’t pay promptly) your bet. There are many bet options available here, not just to predict the winners but total number of goals, first yellow card, halftime etc etc. On the specials, there’s even a bet of a dutch player to spit on a german player @ 51.00 (bet RM1 get RM51 if it happens).
*and yes, that’s my referral link hehe*.
- Asian handicap betting explanation
If you are confused by talks of half ball or one and a half ball when you know they use only one ball on the field, that means you are not ready for the asian handicap bets yet. Go to the link above to know more about asian handicap and how you can maximise your percentage of winning
Okay it seems like I am promoting gambling here - err I am not haha. You are responsible with your own actions. Bet within your limits (and preferably your credit card limits).
So that’s it. Any sites you think worth to visit? Let me know.
