Shameless coach still wants 4-year old boy to run

budhia marathon runnerJust how greedy can you get? A 4-year old boy named Budhia has a natural talent for running endlessly, just like Forrest Gump did. So last week after running for SEVEN HOURS non-stop (covering 65KM) under the hot sun, he was forced to stop by the medics because he was visibly tired.

Many organisations are now concerned over his health and have asked the authorities to stop tje exploitation and prevent the little boy from running long distances again. After the doctor conducted checks, they said the running and his daily exercise has caused his health to deteriorate.

But now the coach is challenging the stop-order in court because he wants the boy to continue running. I guess he must really enjoy the fame and money, after all, Budhia has been appearing in local commercials after his feat was publicised since last year.

And err, he’s not the father mind you. He bought the boy from another man for 800 rupees, the same amount the man paid Budhia’s poverty-stricken mother for him. I hope whatever money he gets from Budhia’s endorsement is being shared with the mother.

They should really groom him for the future. He can beat those long-running Kenyans in the Olympics but if the coach has his way, he will be paralysed by the time he reached his 20s.

This exploitation of small children really makes me angry - being a dad to a toddler and all. Besides I don’t really trust this coach. You know how he found out about Budhia’s ability to run? This is what he said

“Once, after he had done some mischief, I asked him to keep running till I came back,” Mr Das said. “I got busy in some work. When I came back after five hours, I was stunned to find him still running.”

He should be forced to run naked under the hot sun for 10 hours.
