Microsoft announces adCenter, rivals Google, Yahoo ad.

Microsoft has dropped Yahoo’s advertising services from it’s MSN search and now will be working directly with advertisers with their own ad-serving service, in an announcement made today.

Microsoft’s introduction of adCenter stated their stand in competing directly with Google and Yahoo and other companies in serving ads to online surfers’ but they have a few twists in their strategy.

Among them are providing advertisers with their target consumers information such as location, age, gender and sometimes, their level of wealth eventhough the exact identity of the person will not be known.

They are also taking it to the next level by providing the advertisement to users in e-mails, the Spaces blogging program, on mobile applications, in Office and on the Xbox.com Web site.

Okay, so now ads are going EVERYWHERE. I wonder which company will be the first to print ads on the toilet paper 8-|.

Anyway, with the high competition involving the big players, the advertisers will probably have the advantage with more than one source of income available.
