Domain name sold for 7.5 million
The last time this happened, the internet bubble burst and many dot-com companies vanished. The domain name that was sold last time was business.com and the news now is diamond.com was sold for 7.5million.
Odimo, an online retailer based in Sunrise, has sold its diamond and jewelry business, including the domain name www.diamond.com, for $7.5 million to Ice.com, an online diamonds and jewelry retailer. Ice also purchased Odimo’s remaining diamond and jewelry inventory and corporate packaging for an additional $2 million.
Wow. At least this is not being sold by a domain speculator (individuals who bought domain names in the hope of selling it off for a profit). I just ran a domain check to see the Bahasa Malaysia equivalent of the names and found out, these two have been registered by someone from indonesia, permata.com and berlian.com.
Hmmm at least permataberlian.com is available but it’s too long.
