How do the deaf think?

I have a cousin, who’s deaf since birth. She was much younger than me but I don’t know why, when I was little, she likes me so much. Whenever we meet, she would run and hug me. Hehe.

Well we are both grown up now, both of us are married and have kids. She’s in Kunak at the moment and sometimes she would login to Yahoo Messenger and start to chat with me.

Sometimes it’s hard to understand what she’s typing and you can’t blame her. If we type, we would unconciously “read” what we type inside our head but what about her? She never heard how the words were pronounced.

For my part, I try to use direct and I don’t use the word “lah”, “bah” or even short form like “pg” for pergi, “mlm” for malam. Hehe.

So this article titled “In what language do deaf people think?” makes an interesting reading. It will give an insight into their world.

Brad Pitt Kidnapped

What would you do if you were one of the “lucky” by-standers, next to Brad Pitt and seeing him get kidnapped?

If I was there, I’ll try to grab a pic using my handphone camera, go home and blog about it.

Make your own secret note paper

Some people have difficulty in opening this folded paper.

A good prank to play actually, if you can fold a RM10 note and passed it to someone, see if they can figure out how to open it. But I’m not sure if the dimension of the note is precise. I might try this later.

Do you want to try?

Be a joykiller and destroy the earth.

Finally, a guide is available on what is needed to actually destroy all humanity. This must be handy for the most extreme of the extremists since this will destroy everything but it ain’t easy.

Here’s the a shortened version of the pre-amble.

Destroying the Earth is harder than you may have been led to believe.

You’ve seen the action movies where the bad guy threatens to destroy the Earth. You’ve heard people on the news claiming that the next nuclear war or cutting down rainforests or persisting in releasing hideous quantities of pollution into the atmosphere threatens to end the world.

Fools.

The Earth is built to last. It is a 4,550,000,000-year-old, 5,973,600,000,000,000,000,000-tonne ball of iron. It has taken more devastating asteroid hits in its lifetime than you’ve had hot dinners, and lo, it still orbits merrily. So my first piece of advice to you, dear would-be Earth-destroyer, is: do NOT think this will be easy.

This is a guide for those who do not want the Earth to be there anymore.

life cut short

Well this afternoon I attended a funeral service for a distant relative.

He was only 28 years old and just got married last November (that’s like just 4 months ago). You can say he was on his prime. Has a degree in accounting and was a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Just started a new post as a chief executive of accounts in Labuan last week.

He went through a medical check-up on Saturday and the doctor gave him an excellent result but that very night, he passed away.
