I’m not a novel reader - I only read programming and self-help books. Reading this compilation of 100 best first lines from novels would be the closest for me reading novels. Here’s one I like.

me neither, until da vinci code came along. i know harry potter sold more, but that seemed too kiddie. i was curious to know how can a 200+ page book can sell millions, so i started reading it. now on page 80+. you can say i’ve learned a thing or two on how to write my own blockbuster novel now…
