Happy Chinese New Year!
Well well.. it’s the Year of the Dog already and according to my horoscope, the year brings good fortune for the rabbit 
You know, I don’t believe all this stuff and the Feng Shui thingy. For me, it’s just another gimmick by Lilian Too to get rich.
But somehow, last year 2005 for the year of the rooster, the horoscope was right. At the beginning of the year, I read that the Rabbit will have a hard time in the office and the advice was don’t change job or it will get worse.
Well - I’ve been working in my present company for 7 years now and I’ve been under different managers both male and female but last year was the worst I felt working there.
It didn’t hit me that the horoscope was right until around September, when I was sharing with my wife all my grouses and she said “eh.. remember the horoscope early this year? Betul oh!”. Hmmm.
Anyway, there are people who are able to inspire you to work harder while others perspire to make you work harder. This boss puts me down whenever she can. Everything I did was somehow wrong.
Once she spoke to me in an angry tone in front of my colleagues.
Then a new guy was hired to help out in our projects, a contract worker and I was made to report my duties to him. That was embarassing and brought my morale level underground.
One of my colleague was forced to resign because of a small matter and then, I was next on her hit list but before she could get her hands on me she was forced to moved to KL to be nearer with her husband. Pheww.
Well the whole episode shook me up inside and I feel miserable that the fate of my whole family resides in me working like a dog and yet, treated like a dog in the office.
I’ve made the decision to make my own destiny and eventhough she’s no longer working here, I’ve made up my mind to “make it or break it”.
I’m giving myself until my next birthday to do something right. If by end of 2006, I am still like this then I would consider I failed myself.
However, the horoscope is giving me some kind of right signals to make a move. Rabbit is having a good time in terms of wealth and career in the year of the dog. So - here’s to the year of the dog! Woof woof!
