Swimming lessons and banking hours

Last night was my first lesson in my learn-to-swim course (not it’s not this one), held in Sutera Harbour Club. I spent an hour in the water, didn’t feel tired kunun. But when I was getting out of the pool, immediately after my ass was above the water, man was it heavy haha!

You know lah inside the water you don’t feel the gravity pulling all those excess fats.

Anyway, for this lesson actually I joined my colleague, who’s hobby is fishing and now he wants to try his hands on deep sea fishing, so not knowing how to swim, he invited me to join him for the lessons. I grabbed the opportunity since I would sink faster than a rock when thrown into the waters.

You can visit my colleague’s blog here. His favourite pastimes are fishing and chillis(!).

Funny when most of my colleagues and families know about the plan, they would say “wahh ngam oh, can exercise and become slim”. I reply “no - it’s so that I won’t die of drowning!”. See how commercialisation has changed people’s thoughts on swimming lessons.

Anyway, right after last night’s “class”, I went to withdraw money from Maybank and paid my car loan and credit card in the cash deposit machine in EON bank. Imagine, 9:00PM at night and I had to queue! At BOTH places!

Now the news is, starting from February all the banks will be closed on Saturdays as well. Alalala apa lah. If only I can pay all my loans thru the cash deposit and online, then I wouldn’t mind this decision.

I would say the queue at the machine would be longer when this new banking hours is in effect. Hope the banks will think of something clever to allow the “common people” to pay their loans conveniently.

Urine Ping Satu?

Bah anyone going to Siberia anytime should be aware of this mushroom drink. Apparently drinking this Amanita muscaria mushroom will give you a feeling of euphoria and hallucinations (same with syabu lah this).

BUT… if you drink it directly, you will also get the side effects such as nausea, twitching, and an increase sweat and saliva output (guess syabu is better huh?). But don’t worry, the local Koryak tribe has found the perfect filter, human kidneys!

Yes, all those substances that cause the negative effect will be removed by the kidneys, leaving only the good stuff. So you just have to get one person to drink it first, pee it, then you drink it. I guess they have to play “paper scissor rocks” to choose who will be the first one to drink it kan hehe.

Here’s something from the article

In the Koryak tribe in Siberia it is customary for an individual who consumes the mushrooms to save his or her urine in a pot for others to drink.

I have to add that you try not to drink other “unhealthy” stuff during the day before you leave your urine for others ya?

There are some more.. err unpleasing information from the site

In June 2001, a Chinese news feed reported that more than three million Chinese people drink their own urine to stay healthier. This practice is called Urine Therapy, and its promoters credit urine with a number of curative powers.

My dad ever told me about this practise when I was a kid and I didn’t know he told 3 million other people in China!

Anyway, since China (and chinese in general) are always in the lead in sporting events and business dealings, I guess they must be doing something right.

Would you start drinking your own urine? Let me know :D
