Google 2005 Zeitgeist

Google has released its summary of searches for the year 2005 with some interesting notes on the surge of the terms being searched. This is an invaluable tool or reference for anyone who’s trying to make an income out of pay per click advertising like adsense and chitika.

It shows that you just have to on top of the news all the time and be aware of what’s happening especially if you are blogging in a niche market.

am i a geek?

some people get excited over cars. some people get excited over F1 racing (i don’t). some people get overly excited over football (like me). most guys get excited over sexy chicks (ahem.).

anyway, they’re all normal people.

but what if you found yourself excited over a new programming language? seriously. yes you read it right. a programming language.

well - i do and i’m worried. i’ve heard of Ruby on Rails since last month but never gave it a serious thought on learning it until i saw its website.

with the welcoming words “web development that doesn’t hurt“, it set my heart rate skipping (not good for a 30 year + 2 days old guy) and ermm… excited.

am i living in a nerdland with geek written all over my forehead? will the MTV channel will stop entertaining me? am i watching too much of TechTV?

well bah humbug! geek or not. i want to learn this!

i want this programming language to be one of my resolution for 2006.. to learn this damn thing and maybe, i can write faster and bigger web projects!

so.. who’s excited over this Ruby? please stand up.. please stand up… (in the tune of eminem).

3 Decades

Yes. That’s how long I’ve been roaming on the earth!

I don’t know what to say. The sun is still shining, at least it was yesterday cuz this morning it was drizzling.

Don’t have anything special to write here cuz my work is piling up on my shoulders. It’s bad enough I’m the only one who can do web-related tasks, now all of the clients are calling me, emailing me and some are messaging me through Yahoo Msgr.

If only they are as eager as this when paying up.

Anyway, last Saturday afternoon, my wife and I went shopping in Palm Square in CP. Then as we were passing by this shop, Giordano kah I think. Then there’s this one guy who said to me “Uncle, ada sales!”.

WOIT! UNCLE? Cilakak!

I said to my wife luckily I didn’t replied “tomorrow lah call me uncle, I’m still 29 today!” hehehe.

anyway, hope life treat you all good. cheerioo.

Watermarking your picture

I think I’ve neglected my freeware section of my blog. Well, never fear, I’ll add an entry on it today!

My post is about watermarking your picture, you know the small notice to say this pic belongs to who, usually placed at the bottom right of the image.

To do your watermarking, you need to have a graphic that will be your watermark. This is mine.

Well to create this you need an image editing software like photoshop or you can ask your friend who knows how to do it, to do it for you. And if your friend is kind enough, asks for a creative watermark like rounded corners or other fancy stuff hehe. You only have to do this once unless you want to change it in the future.
