My 1st CSS website
Okay. I have to admit.. I’ve been using tables to design websites all these while wuaaaaa. I was already in my own comfort zone and whenever projects came in, the deadline were always near-impossible to complete so that leaves no time to study CSS.
But I know it was time to change or else the internet community will look down on me for still giving users nested tables to present data and images. Anyway, it took me quite a while to go through multiple tutorials and articles on CSS. The incompatibility issue that IE has didn’t help either. There was a time when an image moved 1 pixel to the left of the screen when viewing under IE but looks completely ok under Firefox - that kept me the whole night, cursing bill gates while drinking coffee and tried to understand whatever hacks that is needed.
But I’ve pulled through it and hence, I have my first CSS website.. emmm but don’t look at the source code though cuz there are tables in there haha. A bit only lah but the main layout are all controlled by CSS.

Okay sorry only web designers and programmers will understand this post, so if you are confused already don’t worry. Your IQ didn’t drop, it’s just that I am writing at a higher level of controlled geekyness.
The client is POIC Sabah. A company that is funded by the govt to lure foreign investors to invest in our palm oil industry. Here’s the website address if you wanna have a look.
Let me know what you think of the design ya ![]()

thanks for the comment ppl!
bos - yeah thanks. just some reminder though, this final design was not the first draft. sometimes the drafts looks better until the client sees it hehe. why? because they demand this and that, which is according to their own personal preferences and not thinking of what their visitors will experience.
anyway, thanks for the input.

agree with you,
mockup kita punya main cun lagi, tapi once sudah masuk part client punya komen, itu tukar, ini tukar, itu pindah, ini buang, itu kasi basar, ini kasi siring…etc last2 hancur overall feeling kita punya design.. mau ndak mau, coding jak la terus.. then bila sudah siap coding, adaaaaaaaa lagi diorg mau ubah, kitai tul.. kalo bikin pakai css, mmg safe la.. tapi kalo org yg main slice2 image, fix value sana sini, mmg matai la.. heheh!
client is king, apa bleh buat.. anyway, permulaan yg baik! pasni conform senyum2 jak ko kalo buat xhtml/css..
p/s: berapa ribu site POIC ni boss?

maybe better use web form instead of listing the email address (read: spam)?
