What role does the TV has in your life?
Well - apparently an important role in mine!
Last Friday night, our TV went dead. No pictures, just the audio and my son was crying and kept on giving me the astro remote control to bring his favourite show back on. Luckily the broadband was alive, so I just surfed into Starfall.com and showed him the ABCs.
I know it’s not good to be too dependent on the TV but I guess all household has been programmed this way. Just check out every home, what’s the central focus of the living room? The TV right?
If you enter a show house, one of the first thing that the sales person will say is “This is where the TV will be”.
Why do they call it a living room when they have the TV in the center of it anyway? Why not just call it a “seating room” or “waste your time away room”. How are we living just watching the TV? (ceh.. deep thoughts konon ni)
Anyway, I’m glad that we are not using the TV to serve Jordan with TNA wrestling or Fifty Cent’s MTV video featuring girls wearing clothes smaller than my handkerchief. For Jordan, it’s always channel 60 - 63. Even my wife and me, we know most of the songs from The Wiggles, Bear in the Big Blue House, Hi-5, Jojo’s Circus, Higglytown Heroes .. oh the list goes on and on. I’m sure all parents have these channels in the paid subscription.
Luckily, my friend (which I got to know from SabahRhinos.com) has an extra 14-inch TV lying around at his place. He was the only one I sms on Saturday, asking if he has an extra TV - a long shot which hit the target. He lives nearby so it was easy to get the TV. Pheww!
I’m planning to send my TV to the electrical shop today. Had to take an emergency one hour out of the office (see how important the TV is).
So, when you go back today, greet your TV. He is your electronic babysitter (for those with kids). He is also your friend. Without him, your house will be quiet - 8:00pm feels like 2:00am! Yikes.
Check out my friend’s blog if you have time, he has a total of 3 entries (just started hehe). Count how many cats he has. Post a comment and say “thanks for being a hero in mrBadak’s life” hehehe.
