Santa’s plan for this coming Christmas really hit a snag when Rudolf died of a heart-attack. Apparently a Danish F16 jet was flying over Santa’s farm and startled Rudolf that it collapsed and died.

The animal, named Rudolf, was grazing at the farm of Olavi Nikkanoff in central Denmark when the screaming F-16 jets passed overhead at low altitude in February.

The reindeer collapsed and died, leaving Nikkanoff with the prospect of only one animal pulling his sleigh next Christmas.

So in all those “flights” that Rudolf has been going for all of his Christmas courier trips, he has never come across any jet fighters or airplanes?

Anyway, this happened to a part-time Danish Santa Claus. (all Santa-believers can breathe easily now). The air force has agreed to pay him so he could buy a new reindeer. *yeay*.

ok before you think i’ve lost some screws in my head, actually that’s hawaiian for “skin peeling or falling off after either sunburn or heavy drinking”. i guess if you live in hawaii you need to have a word for that.

how about “Narachastra Prayoga”? In Sanskrit in means “men who worship their own sexual organs”. Yikes - luckily i don’t know anyone like that .

you can get more weird vocabulary in different language if you buy the book titled ” Weird and wonderful vocabulary from around the world”. On this book review page, a few favourites has been selected and there are four malay words featured there. Don’t know how many are in the book though.
