When dictionary sings..

just when you thought people have no more creative juice in their brain, comes the “dictionaraoke”. So what is this? Let me quote the site

This site features parodies of popular songs using karaoke-style backing music with vocals provided by audio pronunciation samples from online dictionaries.

You know those pronounciation that you hear on those online dictionary? Well, they make them pronounce the words to the actual lyrics of a song and play the music background, hence the term dictionaraoke.

Emm.. it sounded weird when they “sing” Britney’s Ooops I did it again.. especially the beginning part where it goes “yeah yeah”.. gave me a chuckle though.

Go there now!

you 20 plus ah?

while in a meeting with a client on friday, our discussion swayed and he was talking about how the younger generation is a pampered lot etc etc.

then he asked me “how old are you? twenty plus ah?”.

wah… suddenly the room was filled with music and the sweetness of life was right on the tip of my tongue. my face still considered twenty plus wohh.

before that “soalan cepumas” came out, all i could hear coming out of his mouth were like “try to make the website ….. yada yaada yaada yayadayada yadayada… young people… yada yada.. not concerntrating during meeting… yadayada… how old are you”.

actually, last week another client asked me whether i was married, that question made me realise that i still don’t have the bapak or married guy look but today, i am 20+!

so next week someone should be asking me “you in form 3 ah?”.

You call that “shoes”?

A schoolgirl from China has invented a pair of shoes that enable her to walk on water.

Wang Wenting, from Chengdu, says she got her inspiration from watching ducks. The high school girl took nearly four years, experimenting with different materials, to come up with the design.

Here are the “shoes”.
shoes ka ni?

more like a shrinked pair of kayak to me and to think that she took FOUR years to come up with the design. hehe. *jahat o sia*.

a kadazan wedding - where beer is served in milo cups.

on sunday, my wife and i attended her cousin’s wedding in penampang. i had to leave my son at home, cuz he was having fever, my parents came over and took care of him.

during the wedding in the hall, i took some pictures using my phone, so they are all fuzzy. the wedding is more or less a typical kadazan wedding in a hall, lots of sumazau, food and drinking.

setting
the nice blue and white backdrop

if there’s one thing i’m not comfortable with when attending a kadazan wedding is the dreaded “forced” sumazau dance! this phobia started even when i was young.

what happens is a few aunties will go around passing a thingy (called senandang.. think so hehe) which they place on your shoulder. Once you get this, it means you have to do the sumazau. so when you go and dance in the middle of the hall, most of the aunties and uncles will observe the way you dance. i can recall when i was a teenager, my auntie nearly choked on her food when she saw me mixing the sumazau with movements copied from the Vanilla Ice video with hairstyle based on the New Kids on the Block (now u know the song i listen to when i was in my teens).
