When fashion designer Melissa Wong gave up her Miss Malaysia Model of the World 2009 title on Sunday, the title was then given to the first runner-up Ms Madelyne Nandu from Sabah. Madelyn is also Miss Sabah/World 2007 and Unduk Ngadau (Beauty Queen) for Penampang/Sabah 2007.

Melissa actually changed her mind and wanted the title back but the organiser told her it’s too late. For more on that story, go here.

In addition to Ms Madelyne, 2 other Sabahans occupied the top 2 spots in Miss Malaysia/Universe 2009. Ms JoannaBelle Ng from Penampang will represent Malaysia in Miss Universe. Runner-up is Cassandra Patrick. She is also the Miss Malaysia/World 2006 1st Runner-up (source).
