I can’t believe this story. The parents of a new-baby boy, who are in their early 30s got themselves too drunk and forgot to feed their baby, who is less than a month old and he subsequently died of starvation.

The couple are from a longhouse in southern Sarawak and are now working in Miri.

The baby died in the intensive care unit of Miri Hospital Thursday morning and a police report was lodged.

Police now want to question the parents, in their early 30s, from a longhouse in southern Sarawak who came to Miri to work and were now renting a house at a low-cost housing scheme along the Sarawak-Brunei highway some 12kms north of the city centre.

Concerned relatives had found the baby unconscious in the house and had rushed him to the hospital at about 3am on Wednesday.
