Another week, another news on a teenager’s expensive blunder on Facebook, though this time not by his own action. A couple of weeks ago we saw how a young player bragged on Facebook that he was on a soccer trial with another team, angering his current team so much that he was dropped from the team.

Now a story from Rhode Island, where 20-year old Joshua Lipton was charged in a drunken driving crash that seriously injured a woman. 2 weeks after the accident, Joshua attended a Halloween party dressed in a black-and-white striped shirt and an orange jumpsuit labeled “Jail Bird.”

He was snapped in a picture and then someone posted that picture in Facebook.

And that offered remarkable evidence for Jay Sullivan, the prosecutor handling Lipton’s drunken-driving case.

Sullivan used the pictures to paint Lipton as an unrepentant partier who lived it up while his victim recovered in the hospital. A judge agreed, calling the pictures depraved when sentencing Lipton to two years in prison.

Idiot. Partying while the victim was recovering in the hospital - now it’s daily halloween for him without any sweets or other “costume” for the next 2 years.

Don’t drink and drive! With the high cost of petrol, we all should just drink and not drive.
