Vixy.net is an online tool that converts online FLV files into AVI, MOV, MP4, MP3 (Audio only) and 3GP (handphone). FLV is a flash-based streaming video that is common all over the web now, for instance youtube.
What’s cool about this service is that you just have to paste your favourite video URL into the box, select which format you want, start the conversion and then download the converted video when it’s done.
This is definitely in my bookmarks now!

You guys can also check keepvid dot com and javimoya dot com. Adobe’s FLV format is becoming a popular video format online against its rivalry Microsoft’s WMV, Apple’s MOV and Real’s RM. Though I have doubt about the final output quality from the conversion since FLV itself is fairly lossy codec and performing another conversion will degrade the quality. You don’t need to convert if you have FLV codec installed in your machine and the video is only for yourself unless u want to share it and make it playable in vcd/dvd player etc. If you guys not sure you guys can install k-lite codec pack full at codecguide dot com and you get updated codecs in your pc. The best thing about Vixy.net for me is they made their source code available and that is priceless as a developer. Another worth app is the riva flv encoder at rivavx dot com combined with flash video player from Jeroen Wijering at jeroenwijering dot com if you ever want to publish video into your website using flv technology. Cheers!

wah sunsuron.. pls post in english! hehe kidding. now that’s one comment from a guy who knows his stuff. anyway, thx for all the links ya. its true la, if you want the movie for yrself, just keep the flv file, it is smaller and better quality (as oppose to another round of conversion). i do keep the flv format in my pc however, if you want to copy to your mobile or ipod or mp4, then u hv to convert.. unless of course they also support flv in the future.
1 thing good about this is, one less software/codec to install on yr pc.
