I’ve known Segway eversince it’s pre-launch hype a few years ago. That time, many of Dean Kamen (the segway’s inventor) fans know he was working on a big and secret project and was about to launch it. Everyone made a wild guess, from a personal flying transporter to a time-machine.
Though the personal-motoring revolution didn’t really took off when it was launched, they still manage to sell a lot of it. You can even see it being used in some movies.
Well yesterday they unveiled the second generation of this personal scooters. The first generation’s main feature is in its balancing act, where you lean forward to go forward while turning the handle bar left and right to change directions.
This second generation complemented on this feature, where you lean left and right to change direction. Errr.. so that means when you want to go forward-right you have to lean forward and tilt your body right. Sounds cool.
It’s a personal motoring device but for me, its more like a toy hehe.
I wish I have that here in the office because the toilet is sooooooo far away. The toilet and my desk is on the farthest opposite end of the triangle shape. The nearest toilet is reserved to another company in the building, so really, if I have to go, it’s like 100 metres from here.
Anyway, the price is around USD$4,995. So I think I’ll just walk.
