Yes folks. That’s my record for finishing the 7K *run*. Haha! I can’t believe it myself.

Sorry this event is more than a week’s old but better late than never huh?

Anyway, back to the run. I battled through stomach cramp (tulah.. minum within one hour before the start) and sore muscle but at least I wasn’t the last among my colleagues heeheehee *evil grin*.

To be honest, it wasn’t that hard to complete 7K under 77 minutes, as Pinolobu pointed out, it’s just 11 minutes per kilometre and you can do that just by walking. I don’t know why I was so worried prior to the run. I think I ran only a quarter of the length, the rest I walked or should I say I dragged my feet.

Seeing people older than me running for most of the way makes me feel embarassed but passing those younger than me makes me feel good. Those 15-minutes jog 3x a week in Likas really built my stamina a little (okay so I admit it, I did prepare myself for this run but all those running didn’t bring my weight down, maybe the scale is spoiled :P ).

O’right. Let me story you based on the pictures I took.

Arrived around 3.40pm, not so many people can be seen here. Since there were no registration whatsoever, people were wandering around and probably looking for free food. Those food in the pics are payable.

Group exercise, led by a guy with a bulging tummy (no kidding). So of course the sight of him encouraged me to join him (maybe that’s why they picked him).

Everyone trying to get a head first. This is where my wife and me made a mistake by standing too far at the back. When the run started, it was tiring just to zig-zag through the “traffic” because too many people with varying speeds. My wife had no problem going in front because of her petite body but no.. not me..

I’m sure if I just dash in between people, they will fall over worse than Materazzi after getting the headbutt. So I had to run on the grass and pavement where there were not so many people.

After the dash-off, right in front of the Marina Club, I over-heard 2 guys asking the security guards “boss.. mana tandas ah?” (sir, where are the toilets?). Hehehe. Sempat juga bah.

The first check-point was suprisingly far. I’ve never been to the deep side of the harbour so I didn’t expect it would be that far. I can’t even see my wife (I told her to go first and I catch up… a promised which came true after the finishing line). 13minutes++, that was my time on the first check-point.

Now need to run out of Sutera and go to Wawasan. Right before the round-about entering Pacific Sutera Hotel while I was making my way out, those finishing the run was making their way in! My goodness, I look at my watch it was around 25minutes after the start! The person leading the pack was a teenager, probably a state athlete.

Passing the area where we started off, I overheard a girl in her teens asking her friend “siap sudah kan?” (we’ve completed the course right?). adoi.. kesian. Obviously she didn’t see the course map!

This is what happens when you try to take a direct picture of the sun while running. I forgot to change the mode to sunset.

Nazri’s relatives are all here. If there was one thing that really spoiled this event, it’s these group of people. Harassing people especially girls. One even had a plank of wood and would sway over people’s head to intimidate people. I was surprised the police didn’t enforce this area. I was hoping my wife wasn’t harrassed by them. F**k these illegals.

DSCN4409
Nazri probably was still playing football with his crew here.

DSCN4410
If I had an iPod and was listening to “Chariots of Fire”, I would be running this but as you can judge by the non-blur picture, I was walking and taking my time.

My other half. My everything.

Okay so after the run and qualifying for the lucky draw, of course everyone wants to see if they win anything but, have to endure some performances first.

My colleague, not a hip-hop fan (taken during NBC’s performance - Atama’s group).

DSCN4435
Atama’s B-Boys but strangely they all look like pilaks (PTI).

*isshhh lama juga ni. boring.*

Capoeira Brasil.

The Beatles. Well actually I enjoyed this performance better because you can sing with the tunes.

Anyway, since it got so late and my son was crying over the phone, we had to leave when the lucky draw just reached number 40. Left the tickets with our colleagues but also no luck.

It was an enjoyable event and I want to break my record next year. Ohya, mrHenri, let me know when you want to run naked to Inanam, it’s about time I inject some nudity to my blogs.
