Malaysians are just crazy coming up with ideas just to get on the Malaysia Guinness Book of Records but the story I want to highlight today is of Vesna Vulovic, the current world record holder for the highest fall survived without a parachute, at 33,330 feet when a bomb blown the plane she was in to pieces.

I picked this story from Damn Interesting which I read every morning.

When you think about it, you’d say it’s a miracle and she is indeed lucky to be alive but this is what she says regarding her fate.

I’m not lucky. Everybody thinks I am lucky, but they are mistaken. If I were lucky I would never had this accident and my mother and father would be alive. The accident ruined their lives too.

It’s just like the story (highlander i think), where he is immortal but everyone around him, friends and families grow old and dies but he keeps on living, which in the long run, will feel more like a curse than a gift.

and yes she is still alive today.
