Well yesterday while at church, my son Jordan was at an “extra” level of naughtiness. From the moment we stepped into the church right till when we went back, he didn’t even took a moment to sit down and keep quiet.

He went crawling on the back-rest of the pews (probably getting ready for National Training Service when he’s grown up), “speaking” very loudly, flip and throw the church hymn book, explore my sister’s handbag and copy-catting whatever the quiet little boy did who was seated behind us.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining here. I know that Jordan has “so many things to do yet so little time” kind of thinking and so far, my wife and me can handle him.

But yesterday, halfway through the service, he started to befriend this little girl beside me. She’s slightly older than Jordan.

Jordan with CapWhen it’s time to say the “Our Father”, all families started to hold each other’s hands and the little girl took Jordan’s hand and he didn’t object. Wahhh with their fingers intertwine, they really enjoyed the session and were swinging their hands together.

We just smiled and let them be. Even the girl’s mother just took her other hand and continued singing.

After that, came the offering of peace to each other where everyone will give a slight bow or shake hands to everyone else in the church. I proceeded to kiss my wife’s cheek as I always do and I didn’t realise that Jordan kissed the girl on the lips!

My wife and the girl’s mother saw it. And from what my wife told me, Jordan was the “initiator”. Ish ish ishhhh. At least the mother just smiled. I bet if they’re teenagers we’ll be slapped with a sogit (traditional fines) and I have to pay them one buffalo.

So.. that was why Jordan had a good Sunday. Heh.
