Msia PMWhat a surprise for me tonight. After a long hard day at work and a night out with some friends – I went back and saw an email with the subject “Penghargaan Terima Kasih – YAB Perdana Menteri” (Appreciation of thanks – Most Honourable Prime Minister).


Yep it’s true folks – I received an email from Pak Lah… and so too thousands of other people who extended their condolences on the Prime Minister’s website.

Eventhough I know he didn’t personally typed in my email address and clicked the submit button, I am sure he personally instructed his site’s webmaster to send the message to everyone on the list. That itself is good enough for me to boast already ;) ).

If you’ve been reading the news, PM has visited his wife’s grave 2 times already since her funeral. The first one was on Friday, which is the day after her passing. He really misses her alot.

Anyway, here’s the content of the email. It’s in 2 languages.

Saya ingin merakamkan ucapan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan di atas ucapan
takziah serta sokongan yang diberikan kepada saya sekeluarga tatkala kami
menghadapi dugaan yang getir ini. Terima kasih juga diucapkan di atas doa
yang diberikan kepada isteri saya, Endon Mahmood Allahyarhamha. Juga terima
kasih di atas doa yang diberikan semasa beliau menerima rawatan bagi
penyakit kanser. Semua ini amat besar ertinya buat kami sekeluarga. Ingatan
dan doa anda amat kami hargai. Moga Allah swt akan terus merahmati kita
semua.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the support and
condolences that have been extended to my family and me during this very
difficult time. I would also like to say my thank you for the prayers for
my wife, Endon Mahmood Allahyarhama. Thank you too for the prayers for her
when she was undergoing her cancer treatment. All of these kind gestures
have meant a lot to my family and me. Your thoughts and prayers are very
much appreciated. May God bless all of us.
